Looking for a break before or during your holidays? Looking for a destination for a family outing? Here is a selection of activities in Luxembourg and neighbouring regions, accessible from a CFL station.

Don’t hesitate to give us your feedback on these activities via the CFL social networks by commenting on our publications or tagging @cflinfos.

Thrills and chills guaranteed

For children of all ages, amusement parks offer unique sensations as they let themselves be thrilled by the pleasures of the rides. And for those who are a little less adventurous, their universes are always an invitation to the imagination. There are plenty of theme parks accessible by train in the Grande Région, including Plopsa Coo in the Belgian Ardennes and Walygator just a stone’s throw from Metz.

A museum 100% dedicated to children

“Participation means giving children a voice”, as the Plomm children’s museum sums up on its website. Since it opened at the end of April 2024, this 1,700 m2 structure has been inviting children to discover, learn, create and develop their critical thinking skills. They can touch, handle, read and test, for example in the permanent exhibition, the Story Tree, the LOVE temporary exhibition (featuring the Earth Train in partnership with CFL) and a host of creative workshops.

Located in Wiltz, Kannermusée Plomm is easily accessible from the local CFL station.

Let yourself be surprised on a walk

A ray of sunshine? A free afternoon for some fresh air? Walking is good for both body and soul. You might as well take advantage of the many signposted routes available across the country, many of which start from a station or CFL rail stop.

With the “Hike & Rail” book published in 2023 (43 walking routes across the country) and the dedicated web page, you’ll have plenty of ideas for your holidays now and in the future.

…or by a bike tour

Still not sure where to go on your next cycling trip or which region of the country or the Greater Region you would like to visit? Then you should take a look at the “Bike & Rail” book published by the CFL in 2023. This is available from Ernster sales outlets for 43 euros. A first edition by the CFL for those who share a passion for two wheels with 20 cycle tours from station to station and varying levels of difficulty. The book offers 15 tours in Luxembourg, five more in the Greater Region, lots of illustrations and GPX data for each tour.

When the Music is Good…

Why not take advantage of the end of summer and the start of the new school year to attend a concert at the Rockhal? The concert hall that makes the heart of Belval beat to the rhythm of the local and international artists it hosts is already announcing a wide range of events for the coming months: Agenda – Rockhal

The Rockhal is just a stone’s throw from Belval-Université station! The CFL also offer parking facilities at its nearby P+R, with over 1,000 spaces, using the P+R CFL application.

For those who don’t yet use the app, the CFL and Rockhal have designed an “Event-Ticket” payable before the concert (from 6pm) so that you can take advantage of a flat rate (4 euros) right up to the last minute and avoid going through the ticket office again when you leave the concert.
