From Luxembourg to France, find the destination of your dreams from among the many towns and cities in France, and make the most of the journey and all the advantages of travelling by train with TGV INOUI.

Travelling from one city to another by train is child’s play. Just sit back and enjoy life on board and the scenery as it passes by. With facilities such as connectivity, a catering service and comfortable seats, your holiday begins the moment you step aboard the train. In terms of flexibility, tickets can be booked as you wish, just like the choice of times, especially for the high-speed trains that link Luxembourg and France every day.

Paris, sparkling and generous

It takes just over two hours to reach the French capital by TGV from the Luxembourg Station, and one thing’s for sure: there’s no shortage of things to do in Paris. From a trip on a bateau-mouche along the banks of the Seine to a visit to the Louvre, don’t forget Montmartre. Its Sacré Coeur basilica and unique views over the city have always made it a favourite district for artists. After a shopping spree in the Triangle d’Or, between Avenue Montaigne and the Champs-Elysées, the heights of the Eiffel Tower and other more unusual sights, such as the underground network of catacombs, are the perfect places to discover the City of Light from unique angles.

Montpellier, the city of five rivers

Montpellier is home to the Place de la Comédie, one of Europe’s largest pedestrian areas. It’s also a blend of medieval alleyways ideal for shopping and exceptional sites such as the Parc du Peyrou and its renowned Sunday flea market. This university town is bursting with places to meet and party. From the beach to discos and festivals, students and young professionals love to meet up on terraces not far from the historic centre, in the lively Boutonnet district. Both Luxembourg and Montpellier stations are directly linked by TGV.

Valence, the “bon vivre” at the gateway to the South of France

If there’s one place you can’t miss in Valence, it’s the Champs de Mars esplanade, which, along with the Parc Jouvet, forms a breathtaking lung in the heart of the city. Take a stroll along the 7 hectares of greenery. Along the way, you can marvel at iconic monuments such as the Peynet kiosk, a listed building, the Maison des têtes and Saint Apollinaire cathedral (Valence Cathedral). Nicknamed the “Venice of the Dauphiné” because of the many canals that run through it, Valence is also a year-round destination for gourmets, with direct access from Luxembourg.

Lyon, at the table of the capital of the Gauls

The direct TGV link from Luxembourg Station to Lyon makes the capital of the Gauls a trendy destination, within easy reach of visitors from Luxembourg. Between the Rhône and Saône rivers, Lyon’s Presqu’île and its 19th-century buildings offer an ideal setting for shopping enthusiasts, with its shopping streets and high-fashion boutiques. Time seems to have stood still on Fourvière hill, with Vieux-Lyon and its 15th-century quarters, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, inviting you to take a stroll. A city of silk and textile arts, Lyon is just as much appreciated for its rich wine-growing heritage, its restaurants and its charcuterie. The great gastronomes, starting with Paul Bocuse, have made it their stronghold.

Marseille, on the edge of the Big Blue

Marseille, the « cité phocéenne », as it is nicknamed, has it all. From the panorama of the Big Blue from the Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica, to the historic center and its lively terraces, passing by the old port and its small markets. Along the Canebière shopping avenue, you can shop windows and eat for almost a kilometer. Nestled in the heart of the oldest French city, the Velodrôme stadium attracts football lovers in large numbers. Departing from Luxembourg Station, with a stopover in Lyon or Valence, the TGV takes you to Marseille. For the return, nothing better than the direct TGV from Marseille Saint-Charles.

And if you still have an ounce of hesitation, don’t forget that by choosing the train you are also doing the environment a favor. Leaving the car in the garage means opting for sustainable mobility.
