The CFL’s second refurbished TER2N-ng back in service
The CFL 2203 railcar is back on the rail network with a new look and, above all, new internal and external functions, thanks to a “mid-life” (mi-vie) refurbishment. Take a look!
Following on from the 2201 railcar last February, the updated 2203 railcar is ready to return to the Luxembourg rail network.
What are the main changes in terms of customer service? How are the railcars modernized during the “mid-life” operation? What are the next steps? Fränz Dording, CFL’s Project Manager for the “mid-life” operation, provides an update in the following video:
Since May 2022, 10 CFL 2200 series railcars (TER2N-ng) are progressively undergoing a “mid-life” operation. After 18 years of loyal service, this rolling stock is being dismantled, inspected and renovated from top to bottom at the SNCF Technicentre at Saint-Pierre-des-Corps in France. A major project to serve customers and promote the efficient use of rolling stock, which will continue until 2025.
