Mission: snow clearance
On Wednesday and Thursday, the CFL teams were on duty to make the platforms and station approaches safe from frost and snow. We stopped by the Bascharage-Sanem station to give you an insight into the work of these behind-the-scenes employees.
Two specially-equiped clearing machines, dozens of kilos of salt, shovels and a good dose of elbow grease. All the brigades of the CFL’s Infrastructure Maintenance Department were mobilised on Wednesday 17 January and Thursday 18 January 2024 to deal with the particularly severe winter weather conditions.
Spread across the rail network, these brigades were busy clearing snow from stations and railway stops throughout the day. Their mission: ensure the safety of customers with platforms that are safe to walk on.
Here’s a photo report from Brigade 22 (Centre Region) during their operation at the Bascharage-Sanem stop.
